When I did my first news search of the day I learned that The Miller Brewing Company, a sponsor of this weekend’s Folsom Street fair, has asked to have its logo removed from an advertising poster that has offended some christians.

A little late in the day don’t you think? The party is this Sunday (the 30th) and the posters have been around since at least August. (Folsom Street Fair Coming Up! — You can also see the sorrid poster and the sorrid details about the fair at my other post…) ;)

Thoughts that occur to me:

- Why would right wing wacko religious nuts care if a brewing company was advertising on a gay poster and sponsoring a gay event in the first place?

Actually, why would any so called chrisitian organization worry about a brewing company’s sponsorship choices? I grew up in that environment I can tell you that 9 out of 10 of them would cruicify you if they found out that you enjoyed a beer or glass of wine. That’s my experience anyway.

- Apparently, the religious camp aren’t the only ones who are crying about this poster either. A few (I should hope that they’re in the minority) gays are also upset. They think that such a depiction (it’s a parody or take on ‘The Last Supper’) shouldn’t be done and that it will just wind up the christian camp.

Who freaking cares what they think in the first place; I say. They hate us in the first place, nothing that we say or do is going to please them. They don’t want events such as The Folsom Street Fair, or pride parades, or gay music festivals, or gay film fests, or gays period to exist.

Much ado about nothing in my opinion…
