Yesterday, when I posted this item: Washington State Lawmakers Introduce New Domestic Partners Legislation, my political gaydar was pinging like crazy! As it turns out I was not wrong.
As I was going through the press release and following links to the various members who were endorsing the new domestic partners legislation, my gaydar was pinging like mad. As it turns out, my intuition wasn’t wrong.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting today that the: WA state Legislature has 2nd largest gay caucus in U.S.. Washington state now has six openly gay lawmakers.
New Hampshire has seven openly gay lawmakers; California, Connecticut, and Vermont each have five.
Some of the members of the Washington state legislature are trying to downplay this accomplishment, as they would rather focus on other issues; but still, I think this is both an interesting and very good milestone.
