A Visible History - Now Playing at IN THE LIFEIN THE LIFE’s February show, A Visible History is up on their website. From Larry Kramer to Audrey Lorde, this month’s show celebrates the extraordinary people and places that have defined the history and charted the course of the gay community.

IN THE LIFE will also profile the late author and activist Vito Russo, best remembered as co-founder of GLAAD (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), and as author of the book, The Celluloid Closet; chronicle the emergence of gay spaces after the Stonewall Rebellion; and take a look at the early scientific and medical debates over the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

In this month’s “REAL to REEL”, they revisit a film, Parting Glances, that hit theaters in 1986 as one of the first to address HIV/AIDS and the complexities of gay relationships.

Twenty years later, AIDS continues to spread in our communities, but thanks to the Outfest Legacy Project, this seminal work has been preserved to continue educating, informing and putting human faces to the disease.
