Gay Teen Shot Dead in Fort Lauderdale

Speaking of hate crimes in Fort Lauderdale, here’s a story that broke on Friday or Saturday. It’s also an unsolved crime at this point.

Police report that Simmie Williams Jr., 17, was attacked and shot on the 1000 block of Sistrunk Boulevard by two young men who wore dark clothing last week. Williams, who was wearing a dress at the time, died soon after at Broward General Medical Center.

As of today, police are still investigating this possible hate crime.
