Camerican BeaverLast year when I wrote about the SPP, I got a bit of flack and some people viewed me as a worried conspiracy theorist. However, as a Canadian Loyalist I felt compelled to say something about the erosion of Canadian sovereignty and Canadian civil rights. I feel so compelled again, due to the pretty much hushed up recent signing of a new bilateral ‘Civil Assistance Plan’.

On February 14, 2008, the U.S. Northern Command published a press release that U.S. Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, and Canadian Air Force Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, commander of Canada Command, had signed a Civil Assistance Plan that allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency.

Apparently, this news is being distributed in Canada to the ‘military press’ this week. Thus far I have not seen anything about it at any of the Department of Defense websites, nor have I seen this news at any Canadian Government website.

I had hoped that it wouldn’t happen in my lifetime, but alas, the Conservative Party in Canada has decided that Canada is to become a proxy state of the U.S. and presumably, sooner rather than later, to become a ‘full fledged’ state of the U.S.A..

For years, corporate America has been doing the silent and not so silent take over of Canada. But now, we face a physical, overt armed invasion from America, any time they wish to do so. That hasn’t happened since 1812. Actually, there was the 1859 ‘Pig War’ incident – but by many accounts that was a long and drawn out sports and booze party in the San Juan Islands. One can only wish that this new agreement is just as amusing as that war; but I highly doubt it.

What’s different about this invasion is that our government has not only invited the invaders to invade our country but they’ve signed on the dotted line giving them ‘permission’ to do so.

How will the actual invasion take place?

The North Com press release says that the plan allows for rapid “support for civil support operations such as floods, forest fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and effects of a terrorist attack, in order to save lives, prevent human suffering and mitigate damage to property”.

Sounds fairly reasonable at first blush, except, once the U.S. military is anywhere in the world in force, they have this nasty habit of staying there, keeping order indefinitely. Moreover, that little bit about ‘terrorist attack’ is especially worrisome, given how vague the term ‘terrorist’ is in the Homeland Security lexicon.

Here’s another for instance. At any given demonstration, march or rally, if the American government or military decide that the citizens of the state of Canada have become too unruly, they can at their prerogative do so under the ‘advisement’ or ‘request’ from the Canadian Generals and/or civil authorities on the ground as it were. This would all be in keeping with saving lives, preventing human suffering and mitigating damage to property. A scenario such as this is even easier to rig, if you have the time honoured agents provocateurs in the midst of such demonstrations.

Canada’s armed forces have become way too cozy in recent years with the American military and our government’s ‘foreign policy’ has become too Americanized for my liking. The signing of the documents handing over the deed to Canada approaches us fast. This is not what Harper was elected to do.
