Julian Yeo’s ‘Unusual Passage’ Provides Unusual Delights
Filed Under Music | April 4th, 2008
I got a chance to listen to Julian Yeo’s new album, ‘Unusual Passage’ this week and I’m so glad I did as it’s quite different from what I usually listen to.
As I noted in the title of this post, it makes for some unusual delights.
Unusual Note #1: Now, although Julian’s music isn’t the usual fare that I listen to, I am familiar with quite a number of the songs that he included in his album as it turns out.
Unusual Note #2: As I listened to the CD, I found myself saying to myself, “Oh, I like that song!” And then the next song would play and I’d say, “Oh no, I like that one!” By the end of the album it occurred to me that unlike many albums where I only like one or two songs, I actually liked all of the songs that were included in it and that I find unusual.
Unusual Note #3: I was actually humming along and at times I was even attempting to sing along with Julian while I listened to these snappy numbers. And, if my partner had been around at the time, (he was out at a gig) I would have grabbed him and attempted to dance around the house with him to quite a number of the songs. Most unusual.
So, kudos to Julian Yeo and his band, for making ‘Unusual Passage’ an unusual and delightful experience!
