I’m probably the second to last person in the world to know this, but as I was going over the Daytime Emmy Award Nominations today, I noticed that The Ellen Degeneres Show has managed to score 8 nominations this year!
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” is the only talk show in the history of the Daytime Emmys® to win four consecutive awards for Outstanding Talk Show in its first four seasons, and it also has won the Daytime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host for the last three years. The show has now earned a total of 21 Daytime Emmy® Awards. And it looks like its about to add a few more trophys to their case.
This Year’s Nominations:
- Outstanding Talk Show Host
- Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design
- Outstanding Directing In A Talk Show/Morning Program
- Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing
- Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment
- Outstanding Achievement in Live & Direct To Tape Sound Mixing
- Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control
- Outstanding Special Class Writing
The 35th Daytime Emmy Awards will be telecast on June 20, 2008 on ABC at 8:00 p.m. (ET) Live from Hollywood’s’ Kodak Theatre.
