Australian chef Jason Roberts helps whip up simplicity with (yellow tail) for busy Canadians

Australian chef, author and TV personality, Jason Roberts makes a splash at the launch of The (yellow tail) FesTiVal at Toronto's Union Station. (CNW Group/Yellow Tail)TORONTO, (CNW) - (yellow tail) wines announced today it is leading the charge toward a new trend in wine pairings with the launch of its FesTiVal campaign throughout Canada.

Designed to help busy Canadians celebrate every day life, the FesTiVal takes a new twist on traditional wine pairings through a combination of simple food, great wines and your favourite movie.

Together with Australian celebrity chef, cookbook author and TV personality Jason Roberts, (yellow tail) is thinking outside the dinner table and looking at the place where so many Canadians enjoy a quick bite - at home, with a movie in front of the TV. To do this, Jason Roberts and (yellow tail) have worked together to develop a series of delicious-but-simple recipes that can be enjoyed with whichever your preference of (yellow tail) wine.

“Jason’s pairings are a great complement to the (yellow tail) FesTiVal promotion that we’re bringing both in store and to events across Canada,” says Adrienne Renton, brand manager, Casella Wines. “The (yellow tail) FesTiVal campaign carries the spirit of (yellow tail) by putting a new twist on pairings and focuses on bringing together easy, accessible elements in a fun, relaxed festival setting.”

Pairing with the Small Screen:

(yellow tail) has developed a series of pairing suggestions for some classic favourite movies giving Canadians some great options to create quick, delicious dinners with easy ingredients and, most importantly, suggestions for enjoying these dinners with their favourite (yellow tail) wine and movie.

According to Jason Roberts, Australian chef, TV host and author, “The recipes and pairings we’ve created offer a simple, uncomplicated way for Canadians to enjoy their wine in those everyday moments - and empower people to try out their own pairings at the same time.”

“From Monday to Friday, romantic comedy to action flick, these pairings offer a new way to approach wine. If you’re in the mood for a classic Hugh Grant comedy, the smooth (yellow tail) Chardonnay goes perfectly with the witty banter of Four Weddings and a Funeral*. Or why not watch the ultimate Russell Crowe classic, Master and Commander, with your deep bodied (yellow tail) Shiraz.”*

Taking FesTiVal to the Streets:

Launching in Ontario this summer, the (yellow tail) FesTiVal embraces the theme of celebrating the everyday. The campaign, rolling out nationally throughout the year, includes a national in-store sweepstakes promotion and a series of outdoor vignettes, which capture common ‘everyday moments’ of life.

The (yellow tail) FesTiVal Ontario vignettes will be visiting high-traffic locations in the Toronto and Ottawa areas this summer. They will also be touring to British Columbia and Quebec this fall.

* Editor’s note: (yellow tail)’s FesTiVal site actually suggests their Cabernet Merlot with Four Weddings and a Funeral and their Merlot for Master and Commander. I haven’t tried any of these pairings, however I have enjoyed both their Merlot and Shiraz.
