Creating Gay Families
Filed Under GLBT Parents, Headlines, Life, Relationships
I read an interesting article in the August print edition of The Walrus yesterday about ‘Creating the Gay Family’.
The full title of the article is: ‘Frontier Families - The Complexities of Queer Parenthood’ by Matthew Hays.
The article brings up all sorts of interesting ideas and bits of info about how complex the quest for queer parenthood is in Canada. Of course some of the information is relevant no matter where one lives but there’s some specific issues and difficulties that crop up for us Canadians when it comes to deciding on how to create a family. A most facinating article indeed.
My only complaint is that The Walrus doesn’t have the August issue and this particular article online. I’m not sure why that is…Probably something to do with they want people to read the print version of their mag. (They’re saying that the latest issue is their July - ‘Escape: Summer 2008′ issue.)
So, if you happen to see a copy on the newstands pick up the August issue. (not even sure if they distribute the mag that way — I get mine via subscription…)
