Let the Canadian Election Games Begin!

Canadian Election NewsWell my fellow Canadians, the waiting is over. Or at least the waiting for the inevitable announcement that Parliament has been dissolved and that we’ll be going to the polls to elect a new PM or vote him back in, as the case may be.

In any event, its official — the Governor General, by proclamation on September 7, 2008, dissolved Parliament and gave instructions to issue writs of election. October 14, 2008 has been set as the polling day. I kind of like our election process. There’s none of this dilly dallying about for a year or two before going to the polls.

So, if you’ve been feeling left out watching and reading about the American elections, you’re in luck. For a brief period of time we’ll be getting massive doses of election hype and news. Although, I should mention that unless something gay and juicy turns up, you probably won’t read about all the minute Canadian political campaign news here.

The CBC has an article about the election call: Vote set for Oct. 14: Harper expects tight, tough election.

They also have a mini-site dedicated to the election: CBC — Canada Votes
