My first news headlines post of the week, so its time to get back up to speed on what else has been happening.

Obits:

Rodger McFarlane, Former Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Director, Died on Friday (Age 54 — Cause: Suicide.). The lights of Broadway theaters in Manhattan were scheduled to be dimmed for one minute on Tuesday night.

Health / Partner Rights:Kept From a Dying Partner’s Bedside.

Russia Watch:

It was no surprise to learn that the Gay protests were broken up in Moscow over the weekend. Also not a surprise that once again, Peter Tatchell was detained/arrested. A bit surprising to read this from Tatchell: Thank you Mayor Luzhkov. Then again, maybe not so surprising.

Police Beat: In Vacouver, BC the Cops are teaching gays self-defence. (Workshop formed after rash of assaults)

Bullying: Teachers in Gloucestershire are to be given training in how to tackle homophobic bullying. Bid to halt homophobic bullying.

Religion:

- In Ireland: Belfast’s oldest Church holds landmark gay service.
