Gay Kissing Exhibit Banned at Singapore Pride Fest!
Filed Under Censorship, GLBT Equality, Homophobia, Pride Events |
Indignation 2007, Singapore’s Gay Pride Fest is barely underway and already the government has cracked down on them.
The annual gay pride festival in Singapore which is slated for August 1st - August 14th suffered a set back when a photo exhibition called “Kissing” has been denied a licence by the Media Development Authority, (MDA).
The MDA denied organizers a license because the photographs which depict gay men and women kissing, ”promote a homosexual lifestyle”.
So, the organizers of Indignation 2007 have now scheduled a short talk called “Kiss and tell” on 9 evenings prior to the main programs, in which a sample of the pictures, shown on powerpoint, will be discussed.
There will also be a photo corner set up where festival event goers can have their own kissing pictures taken.
